The
Start |
|
Founded in March of 2004, just a week before St.
Patrick's Day, Pilot's Pub is the largest "Pub" in
Louisiana. We have a huge downstairs bar (aka the "Fox 2
Room") and a more intimate upstairs bar (aka the "Ready
Room"). Throughout the building you will find pictures,
memorabilia, and keepsakes from great pilots and
friends. Smokers Welcomed (tobacco only).
Pilot's Pub was
created with the idea of having hot girls serve great
drinks in a cool atmosphere. A friendly, flirty staff
and great rock music makes for an amazing time whenever
you pass through the doors of the pub. Come see for
yourself what makes Pilot's Pub such a popular
destination.
Bring your canines too, this is a dog-friendly
establishment. |

Fox 2
Room |
|
Fox 2 is located on the 01 level of Pilot's Pub. The
name is derived from a brevity code used by NATO pilots
to signal the simulated or actual release of an
air-to-air mention. 'Fox' is short for 'Foxtrot', the
phonetic designation for the letter 'f', which is short
for 'fire'. The radio call announcing that a weapon has
been fired is intended to help avoid friendly fire,
cuing other pilots to ensure that they do not maneuver
into the path of harm.
Fox Two indicates specifically the launch of an
infrared-guided missile, such as an AIM-9 Sidewinder aft
of the 180. This kind of shot is the most accurate. |

Ready
Room |
|
The funny thing
about a ready room is that you get attached to the hole.
As much as you are attached to the ship. It's more than
sentiment. It's an urge for protection. The loneliest
feeling in the whole of a carrier pilot's world is when
he's at sea with the gas running low, and he can't see
his carrier. You think of the ready room then, and the
noisy guys who make it the most desirable place in the
world. It's your office, you live in it, it is the big
thing in your life. […] You sweat and worry in it, and
grouse and argue, and you get mad at it when you can't
hear yourself speak because everyone is yelling at once,
but you're deeply attached to the place. —Tommy
Booth, "Wildcats" Over Casablanca[3]
Ready Room is
located on the 02 level of Pilot's Pub. You access it
through the stairs next to the chalkboard just inside
the pub.
This is a much
more intimate bar, with it's a pool table, dart board,
and beer pong table. It even has it's own helipad! Large
couches provide comfortable seating. |
